Wei-Cheng Wu

Wu Wei-Cheng is a ceramic artist who follows intuition and creates with a sense of natural aesthetics. He regards ceramic practice as an extension of architecture and a form of spatial expression.

The surface textures of each piece record the process of making. Marks left by tools, along with layers of texture and color, faithfully reveal his tactile perception of form and the traces of creation. His sense of touch and surface texture remains deeply connected to nature, resulting in a subdued, quietly melancholic beauty.

This reflects his humility and reverence toward the natural world. Though the works may appear unrestrained, they are carefully balanced in proportion, embodying a state of “effortless alignment with the Way.”
